The so-called "Sissi-Filme" are very popular at Christmas time in Germany (I don't know about the other German-speaking countries), and they are the three films about Kaiserin Elisabeth, whom you may know from history, or the recently released series "The Empress." Yes, that's her, played by Romy Schneider, and there are three "Sissi-Filme."

I don't think any of these movies have much about Christmas in them, it's been too long since I've seen them, however they have become an enjoyable tradition, especially if you enjoy a bit of opulence to give you a break from reality.
